Investing in Pacific Rim BioEnergy
We are currently seeking out one or more angel investors interested in taking on one of the most significant investment opportunities in British Columbia. We are a team dedicated to results and results mean successful commercialization. We have already conducted a significant amount of lab testing through bootstrapping a unique photobioreator concept. We are now looking for the funding to take our proven results into a commercial environment and achieve 3rd party validation for petroleum price parity. Once validation has been achieve we are looking to move agressively into the BC biofuels market. Pacific Rim BioEnergy is the licensed technology implementor in British Columbia, Canada. Outside of BC, Pacific Rim has a 25% holding in 3D Algae, the technologies licensing body, and will be seeking out opprotunities to expand the technology beyond Canada's, national and provincial boundaries.
Busienss Model
Our revenue is to be primarily generated through the sale of algae oil and our high protein biomass. The algae is harvested and the oil's which account for 35% of total biomass is sold primarily for the refining of a cleaner burning, renewable, and low carbon intensity biodiesel. The by-product of this oil harvesting process is a leftover biomass which is an ideal high quality animal or aqua feed.
Market
Market size is based on government mandates, which started in 2010 at 3% of the diesel market, to be increased to 5% by 2012. Today's market size is 137M litres. Only 20M litres is being produced here in BC from Waste Oil production. Higher quality biodiesel is being imported, to satisfy the majority of our biodiesel requirements from as far away as Finland. Our algae process is one of the few cost effective alternatives.
Competition
Imported biodiesel represents our competitors. They include; Neste Oil Refinery in Finland, Imperium Renewables in Gray Harbour WA, and Archer Daniels Midland in Velva ND. Algae oil produces a premium sustainable advance biodiesel with a low cloud point. Fortunately other algae technologies are not well suited to the Canadian climate, but are better suited in equatorial zones.
Team
Pacific Rim BioEnergies primary goal is to build a highly skilled scientific team. Currenly the team is being lead by Robert Eberhard, an experienced start-up CEO, responsible for ImmersiVision Inc. (A 2007 top ten BC New Venture). Mladen Diklich is the technologies inventor with several patents under his belt.
